Caressa Cameron - Wins 2010 Miss America Crown

Congratulations to Miss Virginia Caressa Cameron, who was just crowned Miss America 2010. She was crowned on Sat. Jan. 30, 2010, chosen among 53 contestants at the 89th annual pageant at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas host Mario Lopez of ‘Extra,’ and co-host Clinton Kelly, of TLC’s What Not To Wear.

Cameron, a 22-year-old from Fredericksburg, Va., won a $50,000 scholarship and the crown in Las Vegas after a pageant that started with 53 contestants. She outlasted her opponents in swimsuit, evening gown, talent and interview competitions.

Cameron is broadcast journalism student at Virginia Commonwealth University, and wants to become an anchor.

There were 53 contestants representing the 50 states, Puerto Rico, the District of Colombia and the Virgin Islands who were whittled down to 15 semi-finalists and 7 finalists. The 2010 judges are Rush Limbaugh, Vivica Fox, Shawn Johnson, Dave Koz, Brooke White, Paul Rodriguez, and Katie Harman.
